2002

The Beginning

Scott and Heather begin their wine journey and welcome Daisy and Gretchen into their family – their first German Shorthaired Pointers from Jackson, CA

2010

Burrowing Owls

Scott and Heather found Burrowing Owl Conservation  Network, later becoming Urban Bird Foundation. Love for wine takes a dramatic leap forward.

2011

Stay of Execution

Scott and Heather rescue Banjo, their third GSP, who was malnourished and in need of emergency medical treatment.

2014

Move to Napa

After moving from East San Francisco Bay Area to Visalia, Scott and Heather arrive in Napa County.

2016

A Dog Named Frog

Scott and Heather welcome Froggy into their lives – their fourth GSP.

2018

Sound of Crickets

Cricket, their fifth German Shorthaired Pointer, begins her life with Scott and Heather.

2020

Farm, Cellar & Habitat

Scott and Heather create a backyard hobby farm – complete with ducks and 14 fruit trees – and build a wine cellar to accommodate their growing wine collection. Affectionately called Banjo’s Backyard Farm and Habitat. More than 45 reptiles, amphibians, birds and mammals have been documented on the property.

2023

Oh, Maggie!

Scott and Heather rescue Maggie, a puppy living in poor health conditions – their sixth German Shorthaired Pointer.

2024

Short Tales Vineyard

Scott and Heather purchase their first wine vines and establish Short Tales Vineyard in Napa County’s Los Carneros Region in January.

2024

Banjo Ranch

Scott and Heather acquire a ranchette in Wyoming complete with pasture, root cellar, garden and honey bee hives.
